Fully tested by setting up the device to my account through the Alexa app. Then updated the device firmware to the latest version. Finally I performed a factory default reset to erase all my settings and put the device into setup mode so it’s ready for a new home. All you need to do is get the Alexa app installed on your phone if you don’t already have it. Plug in the Dot to power. Wait approximately a minute or more for the device to fully come up and announce that it’s ready to be setup. Once it says out loud it’s ready to be setup go to your Alexa app and add a device then follow the instructions. Simple and straightforward especially since the original printed setup instructions are included.
